Marya is a dedicated Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant at Hilltop Animal Hospital, hails from Rockford, IL. She initially moved to Chicago for educational pursuits seven years ago and made the city her permanent home in 2021. Marya’s passion for animals has been a lifelong journey, having grown up with pets and expanded her family to include exotic animals over the past eight years.

Working in the veterinary industry has been a natural fit for Marya, given her deep love for animals and the joy she finds in interacting with them and their owners daily. Her favorite aspect of her job is the opportunity to be surrounded by animals, providing care and comfort to them, and forging connections with their human companions.

Outside of her professional life, Marya is an avid reader who enjoys immersing herself in books during her free time. She shares her home on the east side of Chicago with her boyfriend and their unique and diverse pet family, which includes a tortoise, a frog, two dogs, and two cats. For Marya, her pets are truly family, enriching her life with their companionship and adding joy to her everyday routine.

Rachel R. is a dedicated Veterinary Technician at Hilltop Animal Hospital. She brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and expertise to her role, ensuring the best care for all the animals she tends to.

Outside of her professional life, Rachel has a special love for birds. Her passion for avian companions is evident in the care and attention she gives to these feathered friends. Whether at work or in her personal time, Rachel’s enthusiasm for birds shines through, making her a valued team member at Hilltop Animal Hospital.

Alli is a dedicated Veterinary Assistant at Hilltop Animal Hospital, bringing a deep passion for animal care to her role. She graduated from Marist in 2019 and furthered her education at Moraine Valley, where she earned a degree as a veterinary assistant. Alli’s journey into the veterinary field began with a desire to be the voice for animals, driven by her love for them and her eagerness to help.

Alli’s commitment to the veterinary industry was solidified when she was just 15 years old, working her first job at a doggy daycare. It was there that she realized her aspiration to do more within the field. Her favorite part about working with animals is the fulfillment she gets from helping them and being their advocate.

Outside of her professional life, Alli takes time for self-care through shopping and binge-watching shows. When she’s not indulging in her favorite pastimes, she enjoys exploring activities like visiting the zoo and going to amusement parks such as Six Flags. Alli’s dedication to animal care and her vibrant personal interests make her a valued member of the Hilltop Animal Hospital team.

Destiny  is a dedicated Veterinary Assistant at Hilltop Animal Hospital. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Destiny began her academic journey by earning an Associate in Science from Moraine Valley Community College in 2021. She is currently pursuing dual degrees in Agriculture at Illinois State University, where her passion for veterinary medicine and the agriculture industry continues to thrive.

Her love for animals was sparked during an introductory Animal Science course, where she discovered a deep appreciation for both food animals and companion animals. The opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to live animals ignited her drive to explore veterinary medicine further.

Destiny’s dedication to her profession was cemented during an unforgettable moment when she helped a dog with a sweet tooth recover from ingesting Halloween candy, foil wraps and all. The ability to provide immediate relief to animals and build meaningful connections with both pets and their owners is what drives her passion for the field. Destiny takes pride in her work, knowing that every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact on the lives of animals.

Mari is a Veterinary Assistant and Customer Service Representative at the practice. Her passion for animals and a lifelong dream of working with them inspired her to pursue a career in the veterinary field. Mari finds immense joy in working with animals and cherishes the opportunity to be part of their care.

Amanda is a dedicated Client Service Representative here at Hilltop Animal Hospital, having joined the team just one month ago. A lifelong resident of the area, she has lived just five minutes from the hospital her entire life, bringing with her a strong connection to the local community.

Driven by a deep love for animals, Amanda found her calling in the veterinary field. She finds joy in the simple but powerful way animals can lift people’s spirits without even trying. For Amanda, the most rewarding part of her role is seeing the happiness and relief on clients’ faces when their pets are helped and cared for.

Outside of work, Amanda lives with her mother and brother. She also has a passion for cosmetology, having attended cosmetology school, and continues to enjoy doing hair—a creative outlet that remains a big part of her life.
